The Prophet’s Healing Dua

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي،
لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Transliteration
Allahumma Rabban-naas, adh-hibil-ba’s, washfi antash-Shaafi, laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uk, shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqama
Translation
“O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction and heal. You are the Healer. There is no cure except Your cure — a cure that leaves no illness behind.”
How to Read
Read 3 or 7 times with full sincerity
Place right hand on the affected area
Blow gently on the area after reciting

Dua of Prophet Ayyub (AS)
Surah Al-Anbiya 21:83 — For Chronic or Severe Illness
أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Transliteration
Anni massaniyad-durru wa anta arhamur-raahimeen
Translation
“Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

Ruqyah Dua — For Others
Sahih Muslim — Read Over a Sick Person
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ،
مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ، اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ
مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ، اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ
Transliteration
Bismillahi arqeek, min kulli shay’in yu’dheek, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin haasidin, Allahu yashfeek
Translation
“In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye — may Allah heal you.”

Read 3 times over the sick person
Place hand gently on their head or chest

Surah Al-Fatiha — Ash-Shifa
The Greatest Surah — Called “The Cure” by the Prophet ﷺ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
Transliteration
Bismillahir-rahmanir-raheem, Alhamdu lillahi rabbil-‘aalameen, ar-rahmanir-raheem, maaliki yawmid-deen… (Full 7 ayaat)
Translation
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise be to Allah, Lord of all worlds, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgement…”
How to Read
Recite all 7 ayaat — 7 times with shifa intention
Blow on water and drink, or blow on the body
Effective for any illness — physical or spiritual
The Sahaba used it as ruqyah and it was accepted

Ayatul Kursi — Protection & Healing
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255 — The Greatest Ayah in the Quran
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ
لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ
لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ
Transliteration
Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom, laa ta’khudhuhu sinatuw-wa laa nawm… (Full Ayah)
Translation
“Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep…”

Read after every Fard Salah — 1 time
Read before sleeping for full night protection
After Fajr = under Allah’s protection all day

Al-Mu’awwidhatayn — The Two Shields
Surah Al-Falaq & An-Nas — Before Sleep
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ
Transliteration
Qul a’udhu bi-rabbil-falaq, min sharri maa khalaq… (Al-Falaq) + Qul a’udhu bi-rabbin-naas… (An-Nas)
Translation
“Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the dawn, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles…”
How to Read
Read 3 times each before sleeping
Blow on both hands, wipe over whole body

Important Conditions for Dua to Be Accepted
- Sincerity (Ikhlas) — Make dua only for Allah’s pleasure
- Certainty (Yaqeen) — Believe fully that Allah can and will heal
- Wudu (Purity) — Be in a state of cleanliness when possible
- Face Qibla — Turn toward the Qiblah when making dua
- Raise your hands — As the Prophet ﷺ used to do
- Begin with Praise & Salawat — Start with Alhamdulillah and Durood
- Don’t be impatient — Allah answers in the best time and way
- Combine with medicine — Islam encourages both dua AND treatment
